The leading cause of pond liner failure is unstable soil conditions that allow rocks and boulders to puncture or tear the liner. Shifting soil can create pockets and voids beneath the liner, forcing it to stretch under the weight of the water and eventually weaken. Underlayment is manufactured in 5', 10', and 15' widths and ships in one or more pieces equal to the total square footage of your liner/geo combo. Simply lay the pieces side by side before installing the pond liner for added protection and stability.
